One Night’s Dance, a New Beginning!

Hello everyone!

We are glad to announce that we were selected to participate in One Night’s Dance at Dansateliers, in Rotterdam. One Night’s Dance is a project organized by Dansateliers (one of the biggest production houses for contemporary dance in The Netherlands) and it’s mission is to give time and space to five young choreographers (we count as one).

The selected choreographers for this year are:

This choreographers are to create a performance to be presented at Dansatelier’s on December 4th, 5th, 6th, 11th, 12th and 13th 2015. Check more about the project, dates and tickets at http://www.dansateliers.nl/one-nights-dance

As some of you may know, we started researching the meaning of culture and traditions within this globalized world. This research resulted in a 10 minute duet which can be watched in the post before or in this here. When notified about the application for One Night’s Dance, we thought about the potentially that this research still has and how it would be a good opportunity to develop it further. For that reason, this blog is restarting its activity like a forgotten vulcano that surprises the nearest communities! It also has it's name change from tacosdemarisco to blurryidentities, to match the title of the research.

The truth is, going back to this research can also feel like going inside this same volcano! Many questions started to appear: What is there to grab and bring forward this time? How is it to rethink our research after revisiting our countries and each others (João didn’t go to Mexico yet)?

Which direction should we go? Stay with us for this new beginning, we will be sharing more of our process!

Yours,

João and Julia
